The Story of APD

‍ ‍

I literally created APD from telling the story of a bowling ball that cracked after twenty years of service. It broke my heart.

As I thought about replacing it, I found myself remembering how much bowling has meant to me throughout my life. I was reminded of my desire to bowl in leagues, be part of a team, and maybe even compete professionally one day. More importantly, I realized that I wanted to give something back to the sport and the competitors who make it great.

When I look at what bowlers wear today, the apparel is often nice, but it isn’t always exciting. I felt the sport and its competitors deserved more color, more personality, and more opportunities to stand out as individuals and teams rather than simply becoming silhouettes in matching uniforms.

What started as a search for a new bowling ball quickly evolved into an idea for a bowling apparel and equipment company. In less than a day, I began designing a vision for a more exciting, more personalized way to represent bowlers and the sport they love.

And thus, APD was born.

Why Insects?

There are not many teams or organizations that use the insects featured in the APD collections as mascots. Because of that, the concept still feels fresh and unique rather than overused.

The Monarch Butterfly, Praying Mantis, Deathstalker, Hornet, and Dragonfly are all remarkable predators in their own right. Each survives through a combination of speed, focus, precision, determination, adaptability, and dominance.

Those same qualities are what I see in competitors who strive to improve themselves and pursue their goals.

The insects of APD are more than mascots.

They are symbols of the mindset required to succeed.

Mission

It is my duty and my goal to provide the very best products and service possible to my customers.

After all, if I am not at my best, how can I expect you to be at yours?

It is my hope that this product line brings renewed excitement, enthusiasm, and individuality to the sport of bowling. It is my prayer that APD encourages competitors to take pride in who they are, who they represent, and what they are capable of becoming.

Whether you wear Monarch, Mantis, Deathstalker, Hornet, or Dragonfly, you represent something greater than a logo.

You represent the pursuit of excellence.

You represent commitment to growth.

You represent APD.
